Group similar products together.

Product Types help you organize your products into categories. This makes it easier to manage and apply the same settings to similar items.

Example: You can create product types like “Food,” “Apparel,” or “Tools.”

Create a Product Type:

1. On the Menu, go to the Settings page.

2. Under Inventory Settings, click Product Types.

   

3. Click the ➕ Add Product Type button.

   

4. Type in the name of your new Product Type.

   Product Type names must be unique. You can’t use the same name twice.

5. Select the products you want to assign to this product type from the dropdown list.

   Each product can only belong to one product type.

6. Click Submit. A confirmation message will appear once your product type is created.

Edit a Product Type:

1. Under Product Types — Inventory Settings, Find the product type you want to update.

   

2. Click the ✏️ Edit button.

3. Make your changes — you can rename the product type or update the assigned products.

4. Click Submit to save the changes. A confirmation message will appear once the product type is updated.
